SU·MO

Pronunciation: \'sü-(?)mo\ :superior strength, ability to stay attached to your vehicle even during extreme driving.

SUMO's cutting edge design offers the ultimate in versatility and performance far exceeding anything in its category.

Adhesion:  Four independent "lever-lock" suction mounts adhere to any smooth non-porous material.

Adaptability:  Ball and socket connections and vertical pivots provide unequaled flexibility to mount to any passenger vehicle.

Leveling:  An additional ball and socket connection in the rod rest allows rods to be level.

Rod Security: Double shock cords "lock" into place.
Portability:  Breaks down and weighs 2 pounds.

Sumo Rod Rack

We tried out the new Sumo Rod Carrier, which I also drove through the car wash to make sure it didn’t fall off. What we like most about the Sumo is its multiple-jointed, four- point lever-lock mounts. In other words, it can be adapted to different base shapes and surfaces easily. It also has ball-and-socket connectors, and durable shock cord tie-down straps. If you’re going to hang a $700 rod and $400 reel outside your vehicle and drive from spot to spot, you don’t get many do-overs if the rod carrier fails. This one seems to work well, and at a retail of $150, is worth the investment to keep strung rods from hanging outside cracked car windows.
