The
Scott T2H 5 weight Switch Fly Fishing Rod is the minimalist's light rod for pursuing big trout, or fishing small steelhead rivers. The smooth power of the T2H is what you would expect, and demand, from the knowledgeable guys at Scott, who've spent the last 35 years perfecting their fly rod technology. Leland on SCOTT FLY RODS
Founded in 1973, by Harry Wilson, Scott quickly became known for their fine fiberglass fly rods. However, very soon, they began to experiment with graphite. Within a few years Scott developed, their signature, tapered hollow internal ferrule. In the late 1970's Scott's pioneering graphite rod, designed specifically for salmon and steelhead, was introduced. Further, they initiated one of the first true quality control rating systems for rod blanks. The result was greater consistency in rods throughout the production process.
Scott is a company whose history is filled with firsts. They were the first rod maker to introduce a five-piece fiberglass rod. They began to experiment with graphite as early as any rod maker. Scott was the first rod company to successfully develop and sell multi-piece graphite rods; and the list goes on and on. This foresight has lead to a number of developments in production and design that has made them one of today's industry leaders.
Scott on their T2H Fly Fishing Rod Series
Our new series of Technical 2-Handers offer enthusiasts high performance rods to tackle any double handed fishing situation. Whether you’re targeting trout with ultra-light rods or working a salmon run with 1200 grains for the big boys there’s a T2H rod to help you do the job better.
The rods are very light with responsive tips, progressive actions and plenty of power and support in the butt sections. They help eliminate torque from directional changes, and cast very smooth flat lines.
The 2 hand assist rods cover situations where casting and fishing a single handed rod are enhanced by the ability to use a second hand assist in casting, and controlling drifts.

You never get used to how cold it actually feels on the river this time of year. But, who cares? You know there are fresh chromers stacked up in the run, and there’ll always be time to thaw out when daylight fades.
The lie is hard to reach, and the drift is complex. That’s good because that’s where the big fish feel comfortable.
A long snake roll sets the anchor and you launch one. The loop is tight, and the fly turns over perfectly, right into the seam.
As you swim the fly through the drift, the line comes tight. In an instant there’s a deep silver fish cartwheeling down the river. Your rod absorbs the shock, and you know it’s a great day to be on the river.
T2H rods are matched perfectly to today’s line types and casting styles. Very easy and smooth, dial in your game with a T2H.
Scott on the Scott Rod Difference
The Scott Difference. Get ready, we’re going to tell you all about it.
It’s about our fly rods, it’s about our community, it’s about our love of fishing.
We live it every day in the shop, cutting precise patterns of custom made graphite, carefully creating cork grips and lovingly wrapping each guide by hand. We share stories of the fishing from the night before, or the fishing planned for tomorrow.
It’s about the excitement of closing the deal on a tough fish, whether it’s a trout selectively feeding on insects, a permit grubbing crabs out of the turtle grass, or a steelhead that’s just entered its natal river.
Most of all, it’s about the people. The people who handcraft exceptional fly rods, the people who fish them, and the people who believe there’s a better way to do things. People who believe that great fly rods aren’t just a piece of equipment, but something more.
Okay, that’s a bit heavy. But, actually, we believe it, and we know you do too.
The Scott Difference. Embrace it, live it, fish it.
The Truth
Truth in rod building. What does that mean? It means giving you the straight scoop.
No, we don’ t build our rods out of leftover submarine or jet fighter parts, and we don’t use pixie dust. Never have.
We do build every Scott rod by hand, one at a time, out of the finest materials and components. Each is thoughtfully selected to match your Scott rod’s application, performance, and aesthetics.
Our partners know we demand the highest quality, and they go the extra distance to supply us with the best grade of Portuguese cork, the highest quality machined aluminum and nickel silver hardware, titanium guides and specially designed environmentally friendly coatings.
There’re no magic materials, and there’re no shortcuts. Great rods come from inspiration, commitment and know how. It’s about bringing together all the details, and about a passion for doing it right.
And that’s the truth.
