Traveling cross-country every year in search of
Florida tarpon and West Coast steelhead, Jim Vincent learned the true
meaning of life: It's too short for using lousy fly lines and leaders!
The truth is, being exposed to so many different fishing conditions,
guides, and anglers, Jim came to understand there was a need for
specialty fly lines, leaders and tippets for differing fishing
conditions. After 10 years of travel, he started his company. With the
help of his field staff of guides, captains and anglers, like you, Jim
tested and retested every product before releasing it to the public. He
wanted it to be right the first time. RIO makes the perfect leaders for
trout, steelhead, salmon, the saltwater flats and blue water big game
with accurate turnovers and high tensile strength. Now all you have to
do is add the fish!
20 Years of Innovative Products
In 1990, Jim Vincent founded RIO in the mountains of Idaho on the idea that exceptional fly fishing products should be built by anglers for anglers. Twenty years later, we’re still in Idaho and driven by that same ethos.
Most of us here are your basic passionate fly fishing bums, looking for any excuse to get on the water as much as we can.
