The Wulff Triangle Taper is the perfect taper for delicate presentation. As your loop unfurls during a roll cast or even a traditional overhead cast the triangle or cone shaped head taper continously provides heavier thicker line turning over lighter thinner line. Because the progression of weight in the forward taper, the front section of the line is lighter and lands gently on the water giving a gentle delicate presentation. Designed for bamboo, of course, it was designed by Lee Wulff, for gentle presentations and a fly line that helps control itself! A fly line that is easy to cast on both bamboo, fiberglass and softer action graphite. The Wulff Triangle Taper floating line with its progressively increasing head taper or triangle taper provides for easy, continuous loop turnover. With the its braided multifilament core this fly line easily unfurls in freshwater fishing situations. The J-3 coating protects the line, keeping it clean and silky smooth for months at a time. You may never need the entire length but the Triangle Taper fly line is offered in 90foot lengths and we currently stock it 3- through 5-weights (let us know if you want larger line weights). A fly line for a bamboo fly rod should be as specific as a fly line for a fast action graphite rod. A funny thing has happened; classic bamboo or fiberglass fly rod manufacturing has stepped into the 21st Century, they lighter and generate faster line speeds, but until recently fly lines for bamboo rods have not keep pace. In fact fly lines typically used for bamboo fly rods have either disappeared or are being redesigned to work with medium action graphite rods. Few manufacturers have stepped forward to give the bamboo fly rod angler a line that is specific enough to meet to their demands. The folks at Cortland Fly Lines have stepped up with the SYLK Fly Line as have the folks at Wulff by keeping the Triangle Taper fly line a great bamboo casting and fishing fly line. The Triangle Taper is a continuous forward taper in the head of the line, the first 27 to 40 feet, depending on the application.
