Leland on Simms Underlayers

When KC Walsh bought the wader side of LifeLink out of Jackson, WY, his intent was to develop waders that could withstand the abuse of full time fishing guides. It wasn't long before the Simms name was seen on the majority of the guides in the Rocky Mountains. When W.L. Gore decided it was time to put GORE-TEX in waders the logical choice was Simms. Working hand in hand with Gore, the Simms designers soon developed the now famous Guide Wader. This wader has been the hallmark of breathable waders and continues to have the competition scrambling to catch up. When Simms decided it was time to move into clothing we knew it was going to be done the right way. Today Simms designs and manufactures some the most functional and comfortable fly fishing clothing on the market. And as with their patented Guide Wader the clothing is guide-proof.

Leland on Fly Fishing Underlayers

Layers, Layers and more Layers! We live in technological age. Everything we do is based on high tech, so why should clothing be any different? The most important aspect of any underlayer is its ability to move moisture away from your body! You can not stay warm if you or your under layering is wet, period. Therefore you need to transport this moisture away from your skin to different layers of clothing, finally to the outside air. All of the modern under layers have wicking properties, some more than others. Simms has always been on the cutting edge of moisture moving garments and as result we have chosen their products to lead you through this minefield of technology. For warmth control you simply increase the number and weight of the layers you are wearing.

Wearing the right apparel while you're out on the water can make the difference between a good day and a bad day.  By wearing the proper clothes and you can concentrate on fishing, not the cold, wind, rain or sun!! At Leland, we know how important selecting the right apparel can be, we have fished all over the world and in almost all weather conditions.  Our advice: buy the right clothes before you go on that trip, have it when you need it!  Fly fishing clothes are designed to make your over all experience not only more comfortable but safer as well.  Whether your going to Belize, British Columbia, or your local river bring the right gear. Your fishing experience will be more enjoyable!
