Leland on Simms Bags and Luggage
When a manufacturer can make a wader that lasts 5-10 years you
gotta know that when they start making luggage for fly fishing its move
over Sampsonite! When KC Walsh aquired the wader side of LifeLink out
of Jackson, WY, his intent was to develop waders that could withstand
the abuse of full time fishing guides. It wasn't long before the Simms
name was seen on the majority of the guides in the Rocky Mountains. When
W.L. Gore decided it was time to put GORE-TEX in waders the logical
choice was Simms. Working hand in hand with Gore, the Simms designers
soon developed the now famous Guide Wader. This wader has been the
hallmark of breathable waders and continues to have the
competition scrambling to catch up. When Simms decided it was time to
move into fly fishing luggage, we knew it was going to be done the
right way. Today Simms designs and manufactures some the most
functional fly fishing luggage on the market. And as with their
patented Guide Wader this luggage is guide-proof.
Leland on Simms Fishing Products
Funny how childhood memories can influence one's life!
Just ask K.C. Walsh of Simms Fishing Products what the underlying theme
to his company and its location, he'll tell you it was his grandfather
taking him fly fishing in Bozeman, MT. Funny how what started as a
desire by K.C. to work in the fly fishing industry turned into the
design of the world's best fishing wader. Funny how that wader design
has turned into a company that now manufacturers what is considered by
many the best fishing waders and technical clothing. Funny? Not really.
Just hard work: Welcome to Simms Fishing Products!
At Leland
Fly Fishing Outfitters, we carry and use only the best fly fishing
gear. There is not enough time in our hurried world to worry whether
our chest waders or rain jackets are going to leak. We talk with K.C.
quite frequently and love to listen to his passion for development of
the most useful and high quality fly fishing apparel. Our shop
employees have toured the Simms factory, attended product seminars and
can tell you, K.C. is doing it right.
