scott bamboo fly rods

Originally founded in San Francisco in 1973, Scott is a company usually associated with firsts: the first company to make a five piece fiberglass fly rod, one of the first to start using face shotgraphite, and the first to make a multi-piece graphite rod. But as innovative as Scott is, they've first and foremost got a serious appreciation for the old school. They've been big in bringing back fiberglass, and now they've teamed up with Bernard Ramanauskas, one of the world's foremost split cane rod makers. These aren't the feeble, heavy rods of your great grandfather's day, either. Scott SC Bamboo Fly Rods are light and crisp and have the guts to deliver your fly right where you want it, wind be damned. These classic rods feature hollow-built swelled butts, handmade Hariki nickel silver ferrules, and resin-reinforced nodes. Crisp, efficient, and beautiful, Scott SC split cane rods deserve a lot of admiration. Whether that admiration is on the mantle or on the water, we'll leave that up to you.
