Gary Loomis' quest to perfect the steelhead rod has spanned almost three decades, spawned numerous terrific rod series and subdued many, many, many steelhead. From knowledge gained by working for other rod manufacturers, Gary was convinced that graphite was the future of the fly rod industry. The ultimate prize was a rod with enough softness to dampen the scorching runs and jarring leaps of a furious steelhead, with the backbone to talk the fish back into the net. And of course, above all else the rod must cast like a dream, too. With this dream in mind, Gary started G. Loomis to make every day of fishing more enjoyable and memorable. The rest, as they say, is rod-making history.
Loomis was instrumental in starting the two handed fly rod revolution and have been solidly at the forefront of rod design ever since. Using their extensive experience and expertise, they've managed to develop series of spey rods to
equip casters of any style. It certainly helps that they've got several World Champion Spey casters on staff...
