Leland on the Rio Kahuna Sticky Indicators
I always carry a pack of RIO Kahuna Sticky Indicators in my fly vest. They're great for switching back and forth from dries to nymphs without re-rigging your whole setup. Simply fold a Kahuna over the leader with the correct depth of tippet below, and you're ready to go nymphing. Fish are rising again? Just peel off the Kahuna and tie on a dry fly. These indicators are large enough to suspend a reasonably large shot, or use two side by side for deep nymphing with more weight. Need a smaller indicator for wary fish near the film, or for tracking tiny hard to see dry flies like black ants? Get out your scissors and cut a small corner off of one of these indicators for a custom rig. The little bright dot will tell you that the big brown has just inhaled your fly!
