The
Umpqua Fly Line Scale is an inexpensive and handy device that will take up very little room in your gear bag, yet can determine some very important issues for your fly fishing. It will weigh fly lines from #1 weight (60 grains) to #13 weight (430gr), so that you can determine the exact line weight that performs best with each of your fly rods. You'll be able to figure the true weight of any new fly line (and that's important, considering the fact that we have many fly lines now that are actually in-between line weights), plus, you'll be able to go through all of your old floaters and sinkers where the labels have worn out, or been misplaced.
Just measure 30 feet of fly line, and clip it to the scale. If you build any custom sinking lines, or tips, this scale will prove invaluable in getting the job done accurately.
