Leland on Loon Strike Out Indicator Yarn
Making your own yarn strike indicator on your leader takes a little more time to set up than rigging a foam or other type of pre-manufactured indicator. But, if you do it right, the simple home made yarn indicator will cast better, float higher, be more visible and more sensitive to strikes than all other indicators, in my opinion. This Loon Strike Out Indicator Yarn is a high floating synthetic that is pretreated with Hydrostop, so you don't have to hassle treating it with floatant yourself. The glo-yarn Yellow is highly visible, even in low light conditions. Use a very short section of a single Strike Out strand to make a delicate spring creek indicator the size of a pea, or use two or more longer strands to suspend large heavily weighted nymphs.

Leland on Loon
As with so many other manufacturers, Loon was born from a necessity for
better fly fishing equipment. An avid fly fisherman and talented
chemist, Dan Paradis knew he could develop fly and leader amendments
that were environmental friendly to boot.
Dan started tinkering with a basic piece of fly fishing equipment, the
sinker, and developed Loon's Deep Soft Weight, a lead-free, non-toxic
weight in putty form as an alternative to split shot. It was an
immediate hit with anglers from coast to coast. In 1993, he developed
and patented Loon's Biostrike, a reusable, biodegradable strike
indicator putty. Again, fly fishing enthusiasts raved about Loon's
product. Dan and his legacy at Loon Outdoors continue to introduce
revolutionary, award winning fly fishing products to the industry,
pushing the market towards more environmentally friendly fly fishing
products.

PRODUCT TIP:
Tie a piece of the size that works best for you, preferably above a knot. Try several colors in series for best visibility.
Loon on Loon
While casting a caddis on the Boise River in 1991, Loop founder Dan
Paradis knew he could combine his knowledge of chemistry with his love
of the outdoors and passion for fly fishing. He left his successful
career as the technical director of Dexter Aerospace to begin a new
journey. Loon Outdoors is that journey and Loon's concept is simple; to
create environmentally-friendly fly fishing products that perform at an
exceptional level.
Dan will be missed; but the best way Loop knows how to honor him is to
continue the journey. To continue living and pursuing a life filled with
our passions. To continue providing environmentally conscious fly
fishing products that better enable fishermen to find success in all
their fly fishing endeavors. Thank you, Dan. Thank you for living a
courageous life, and showing us the joy of pursuing our passions. May
you be honored by Loon Outdoors and all the lessons we learned from your
life.
